An incredible opportunity today for some of our county superintendents and staff who are in D.C. advocating for our policy priorities, when they got to meet with Kevin McCarthy and take in the gorgeous view from his balcony.

Day 3 of the 2023 federal advocacy trip and our nine county superintendents are back at it again on behalf of California’s public school students. We know it will be another successful day of meetings on Capitol Hill!

Our county superintendents and staff kicked off the morning with a productive meeting with Alex Padilla to discuss  a variety of important topics such as Head Start, E-rate/Cybersecurity, Secure Rural Schools, Special Education, and Title 1 Funding.

9 California County Superintendents of Schools, including Mary Barlow, are on Capitol Hill advocating on behalf of California’s public school students. What an incredible opportunity to meet with Kevin McCarthy, Senator Alex Padilla, Rep. David Valadao, U.S. Department of Education and others this week!

Happy #NationalEnvironmentalEducationWeek! As we celebrate this week, we want to highlight KCSOS's two exceptional outdoor education programs in Kern County: Camp KEEP & CALM Zoo. These programs are dedicated to providing students with unique outdoor environmental education🌿
