Ted Chiang’s essay may be the best thing I’ve read on this subject. Now I want to read some of his science fiction. Anybody have a strong recommendation?

On one hand, maybe the simulation authors or God have a sense of humor. On the other hand, maybe it’s just that humans naturally seek meanings and imagine stories, like those about reality being a simulation or God existing and directly controlling the heavens.
