Marcus Noack and Dani Ushizima Ph.D. wrote a great textbook on autonomous experimentation with great ideas and useful lessons. "the goal to liberate practitioners from micro-managing experiment designs and instead allow for the focus to be on the underlying domains of sciences." <- Yes!

St. Patrick's day parade while preparing slides? Constant meetups with colleagues from across materials and chemistry? Self-driving labs? Must be #ACSSpring2024 in #NewOrleans. Great city and great science.

Great time at the #Mach conference! Back to back talks with Benji on self-driving labs. New lab moto: #ExperimentsSampleGroundTruth lots of evidence of this in extreme mechanics!

Thanks to Nadya Peek and Lilo Pozzo ⭐️⭐️⭐️🤌🏼 for putting together a great workshop on open source hardware featuring their Jubilee system. My students won't be surprised to learn that I break thinks in lab.

Back to National Academies for the release of the Proceedings of the AI for Scientific Discovery Workshop! Excellent keynote by Laura H Greene and great orchestration by Brad Malin. Amazing how much has happened in #AI research since 10/23 nationalacademies.org/our-work/ai-fo…

What do you get when you operate a self-driving lab for >2 years straight? #WorldRecord mechanical performance, transferrable mechanical insights, and a library of structure-property relationships. Thanks Nature Communications and team for this massive effort. nature.com/articles/s4146…

Honored to be part of the Academies for Global Innovation and Digital Ethics (AGIDE) Report. It was amazing to work with members of academies from around the world. TLDR: people have many different narratives for ethics around digital issues verlag.oeaw.ac.at/en/product/nar…

Additive manufacturing of soft materials #GRC! Super fun to have nerd summer camp and learn from great researchers. Soft serve became my favorite thing to #3dprint Ron Smaldone Rob Macfarlane

After conversations with 18 industry experts, I’m excited to share my research map on autonomous labs for scientific discovery.💡 View it here: bit.ly/autonomous-sci… This map highlights customer pain points, product opportunities, and the peer landscape. I hope it shortens

Just read that the popular 'Letters' format of research articles only exists because Rutherford wanted publication to keep pace with science, so he snuck research articles in to the 'letters to the editor' in nature So.... how long until we have a tweets format?

Excited to introduce our latest robot - the PANDA! It can handle fluids, perform electrochemistry, & optically characterize polymer films. We first studied electrochromic films with it. Props to SoapyBacon by craft ➜ Harley by trade, Greg, and the Werner lab! Materials Horizons pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…
