“Joy” Watercolor on Paper 18” by 12” - I try and put some personality into my sea creatures so that each one tells their own story. This #humpbackwhale was incredibly fun to paint (entirely done to 80s music) and I learned some great lessons along the way.

“Peaceful, Easy Feeling no. 25” Watercolor on Paper 11” by 13” Is there a more peaceful, easy feeling than floating on calm clear water? This is my first #landscapepainting of the New Year and I hope we can take the same calm, peaceful feeling into this year.

For me it’s 3 or 4 likes on one of my tweets. If I hit 5, I’m popping my shirt off, holding my phone in the air and strutting down the street yelling “Guess who just won Twitter!?”

“The Long, Slow March of Stone to Sea” Watercolor on Paper 17” by 11” - Beaches are constantly changing and shifting. Sometimes in small ways and other times in massive ones. These large stones weather the changes as they continue their journey to the ocean. #watercolorart

“Cool Change” Watercolor on Paper 20” by 16” SOLD - This was just a lovely commission from start to finish. From getting to visit the location and take pictures, to pencil and watercolor sketches to the final painting, this was a fun one.

“Blue Crush” Watercolor 22” by 30” - How rare is the #bluelobster? One in every two million! I love the subtle colorations, shapes and gradients in blue lobsters. I wanted to see the lobster’s crusher claw, bold and large to really appreciate these subtleties. #watercolorpainting
