The only Democrat I’ve voted for in recent memory is Justin Brannan because as my city councilman if I texted him and said there’s broken glass on the overpass the kids use to get to school it was gone the next day. That’s politics.

For too long, Live Nation and Ticketmaster have illegally run the world of concerts and live events, monopolizing the industry and forcing people to pay more for concerts and sports games.

It’s time for a new era: My office, U.S. Department of Justice, and a group of 29 AGs are suing.

The CEO of Live Nation — the parent company of TicketMaster — received $23.4 million in compensation last year.

Meanwhile, the median Live Nation employee was paid $28,207.

That’s a CEO-to-worker pay ratio of 833-to-1.

Monopoly power is terrible for everyone but rich CEOs.

If there’s one takeaway from the New York City Council budget priorities this year, it’s this: we believe deeply that, using the resources we take in, NYC must continue to deliver the greatest municipal services in the world. New Yorkers deserve nothing less. Dan Mannarino Kala Rama

There have been (much larger) Nakba Day protests in Bay Ridge every year for the past decade without violence. This year was different. NYPD response was disproportionate & preemptively aggressive. I look forward to reviewing the findings of City Hall's investigation.

Is the New York City Council truly the co-equal branch of NYC government? Legislatures at other levels currently have the same broader advice and consent powers that we seek. Ultimately the process would strengthen our government by building confidence & relationships from the jump.

The 💰is there. Our city has what we need to save AND invest in essential services New Yorkers rely on. The FY25 budget must restore the blunt cuts that have been made to education, housing, cultural institutions, libraries, parks, sanitation, public safety, seniors & more. Spectrum News NY1
