Doors now OPEN! 🙌🏻 💇🏼♂️ It was great to officially open the #Brent Hairdressing Academy in #Harlesden today. This will be an innovative hub that supports employment and skill development. Proud of the work Brent Council is doing to support our communities.

It was then off to College Road in #KensalGreen for an amazing community street party organised by local residents and businesses. Mili Patel said a few words of thanks to the organisers alongside our local MP Georgia Gould and Brent Labour leader Cllr Muhammed Butt (2/2)

Great to be out on the #LabourDoorstep with Mili Patel and Jumbo Chan plus lots of volunteers from Brent Labour. Talked to lots of people along Bathurst Gardens about issues including tree coverage, fly tipping and housing.

Great to be out in Sunshine #LabourDoorstep in #Harlesden&Kensal Green ward with Mili Patel Lesley Smith Cllr Neil Nerva 🌹🇪🇺🇬🇧 🇺🇦 🚉 Brent Labour Jumbo Chan Cllr Matt Kelcher Having brilliant chat with residents regarding increase of tree planting and cycle lane visibility. 🌹🌹🌹

Good to be out on the #LabourDoorstep with Jumbo Chan, Mili Patel and Brent Labour volunteers. We spoke to residents along Nicoll and Connaught Roads about the upcoming road improvements the council will be delivering.

Great to see Brent Labour’s community skips back in #Harlesden & #KensalGreen this morning! The skips enable local residents to get rid of their bulky waste for FREE and donate any reusable items. This morning the skip was on Ashdon near Burns Road and we stopped by to help.

Fantastic to be at the annual Newman Catholic Coll (Newman Catholic College) community day in #Harlesden and #KensalGreen. Great to speak to lots of local residents and try out a range of activities from hairdressing, to face painting to arts and crafts.

"We can stop a fish and chip shop opening next to a school, but not an Adult Gaming Centre next to a homeless shelter." Our Harlesden councillors spoke to the Gambling Reform APPG about the powers councils and communities need to have a say over their high streets 👇 #StopTheSpread

Yesterday, the APPG heard from witnesses on the proliferation of B3 machines and Adult Gaming Centres. Department for Culture, Media and Sport must reform the regulations to prevent harm. Liberalisation of the 80/20 must be abandoned, and 'aim to permit' must be changed, empowering councils.
