In May I was delighted to join @brentlabour colleagues to officially open the Brent Hairdressing Academy in #Harlesden and #KensalGreen. The Academy is located at 16 Craven Park Road and is run by the Council’s skills and employment agency, Brent Start. (1/3)

Busy Saturday morning for the team today! We started with a roving surgery along Nicoll Road, speaking to local residents about any concerns they had. We then held a surgery at #Harlesden Library for anyone who wanted to drop by for support. (1/2)

Refugee Week is a global festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees. The theme this year is “community as a superpower” and nowhere does community quite like #Harlesden and #KensalGreen! So it was great to attend local events tonight. 1/3

Really enjoyed taking part in the Clean Air Day event at Roundwood Park this afternoon. I took completed a survey about local air quality and made a pledge about small changes I will make. Improving air quality is one of our top priorities for #Harlesden and #KensalGreen.

The Council is considering changes to Crownhill Road and Sellons Avenue in #Harlesden and #KensalGreen, following a series of concerns raised by parents, residents and teachers about pedestrian safety, particularly around the local schools. (1/7)

Fantastic to be at the annual Newman Catholic Coll (Newman Catholic College) community day in #Harlesden and #KensalGreen. Great to speak to lots of local residents and try out a range of activities from hairdressing, to face painting to arts and crafts.

Yesterday, the APPG heard from witnesses on the proliferation of B3 machines and Adult Gaming Centres. Department for Culture, Media and Sport must reform the regulations to prevent harm. Liberalisation of the 80/20 must be abandoned, and 'aim to permit' must be changed, empowering councils.
