Today the Senate passed the Kids Online Safety & Privacy Act (a proposal that includes both COPPA 2.0 and the Kids Online Safety Act or "KOSA"). Rather than read the tea leaves on what the House might do, I want to step back and look at how KOSPA fits into the broader lanscape 🧵

I would prefer to keep the fed independent of politics, D or R. It was wrong when Trump tried to bully the Fed. It is wrong for Sen Warren.

The default setting for most political emails now when you unsubscribe, is to not unsubscribe, but pause or fewer emails. Dark patterns ?

And to be clear I don't think either Trump's tariffs or Harris privacy gauging policy will make a difference here... maybe DC back to office policy so there is more restaurant competition and traffic would help. Guess how much I paid for salad plus small fruit salad please
