Out on the moor today searching for stillness. Saw the rowans in the old holloway: amazing display of bloodshot berries baubling a grey day.

A day of sun, sand and seals on Ynys Enlli/Bardsey Island today. Have tried many times to make the crossing but weather always too rough. Made it today and it felt like an odyssey. A wild and wonderful place and the island of 20,000 saints.

With the seals on Ynys Enlli yesterday - the honour of sitting with these huge watchful creatures, listening to their sad song of the sea.

Another job struck off the to-do list today: twelve planters repainted and now ready to be put into position and planted up with trees. Thank you Lorna & Owen for all your great help today.

Early evening. Midges are out. Thrushes are feeding on the mulberry tree.

The dogs hate thunder and there’s a storm coming in. Power’s on and off. Brings back memories of when we first moved in. At least now we’ve got a roof that doesn’t leak! #Thankful

The heather’s out on the moor and the air’s so sweet you could drink it. Love heather - the way it’s shaped by adversity - it prefers thin soil and it’s strengthened by the wind that beats against it.
