After the 7.4 earthquake on April 4th, #Hualien City faced more seismic activity, including two aftershocks above magnitude 6 on April 23rd. Two buildings collapsed: one unoccupied and previously marked as unsafe, the other undergoing renovation. #earthquake

Two additional buildings—a 2-story residential and a 2-story factory—collapsed during today's aftershocks in Taiwan. Both had been marked red following the 4/03 quake and were unoccupied.

Trying & failing to think of a previous case where such an energetic swarm started several weeks into an aftershock sequence.

Very interesting explanation of what may or may not be going on deep beneath the east coast of Taiwan right now. Not entirely reassuring.

So far there are two buildings previously damaged by the mainshock have toppled down...

It has been 20 days after the mainshock in eastern #Taiwan , and now the area is struck by an aftershock cluster containing multiple M6 and M5 earthquakes in the last 24 hours. The strongest one is estimated to be M(L) 6.3, with hypocenter depth very close to the surface.

This is a very interesting read, and especially so given that the earthquake sequence today in Taiwan is now producing M6.0+ events.
