Training Idea An exercise I developed last year. Orange attack in half 1, while blue attack in half 2. The sides alternate turns. The game starts with a coach passing the ball into a 3v1 rondo on the flank. As soon as a pass is played an extra defender can join to create a 3v2

For this weeks iDiski Times article we did something different. I had the enormous privilege to conduct a two-part (the second part comes out next week) coaching discussion/interview with my good friend René Marić. He shares some amazing insight for coaches at all levels.

In this weeks iDiski Times article I wrote about wave practices, and why they are extremely useful fpr training scoring and transitions. I also elaborate on their use in the context of pre-season and included a couple of variations including a classic and my own 3v3+2 variation

In this weeks iDiski Times article I wrote about the analysis process. How this should be match-centered both in the beginning and the end of the process. Some thoughts about how to coach within this while integrating the players and the use of action language for maximum clarity

In this weeks iDiski Times article I wrote about passing exercises and evolving these into passing games. I give two practical examples as well as some background theoretical reasoning (about opposed and unopposed) that hopefully makes this thinking clear and logical

In this weeks iDiski Times article I wrote about the development journey of Luke Fleurs. I worked together with his youth coaches rcprince and Jean-Pierre Farrugia to look to extract lessons from his journey from youth football into the professional game at an early age. RIP Luke
