“Larry Norman heard my band (Danielson) and reached out to me….which led to several meaningful exchanges. Later, Greg mentioned he had unpublished Larry Norman lyrics. I connected with 'Come and Save Me.’”

The song’s lyrics are from the papers of Jesus Music pioneer Larry Norman who died in 2008. The papers were uncovered by Norman biographer Gregory Alan Thornbury, who interviewed  Smith for his book.

The song came from Chris and Daniel’s collaboration on ELECTRIC JESUS, released in 2021 after a long and award-winning film festival run. The accompanying soundtrack, written and performed by Smith, was released by Joyful Noise.
