It was really neat to get a little glimpse of the solar #Eclipse2024 this afternoon! Since I wasn't able to use my camera or my smart phone, and had to use an old phone, this is the best photo that I got. Not too bad! You can read my full eclipse story over at Adventures with Josie

I used the phone to take a few photos and videos of the eclipse and view it safely without looking directly at it. It was pretty cool! What a neat experience! (These photos were taken with a darker setting than what it looked like outside, so I could capture the sun). 3/3

I don’t have a special filter or lens for my camera or smart phone to safely take eclipse photos, so I decided to use an old phone of mine that I didn’t mind if the light damaged the camera on it. 2/3

Eclipse selfie! Despite the fact that I didn’t have a pair of solar eclipse glasses, live in an area that had cloud cover off and on, and was only going to have a chance to see the eclipse at around 90% totality, I still managed to enjoying seeing some glimpses of it today! 1/3

Low water walk at Explorer’s Point! Every year around this time, the water along the Ottawa River near the town of Mattawa is lowered to help prevent flooding. This year when I went to the point the water wasn’t at it’s lowest, but it was still really interesting to look around!

Winter is apparently back again! Better stock up on supplies and tasty snacks!

A beautiful Trumpeter Swan that I saw recently along the Ottawa River in the town of Mattawa, Ontario! Swans are not commonly seen around this area, so it was so nice to see one! The swan was feeding in the river with some Ring-necked Ducks and Canada Geese.
