Today is #WorldSuicidePreventionDay An estimated 703,000 people a year take their life around the world. For every suicide, there are likely 20 other people making a suicide attempt and many more have serious thoughts of suicide. #BeTheLight and prevent suicide.

Today we remember the nearly 3,000 people killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the bravery, compassion, strength, and courage of our fellow Americans. We will never forget the outpouring of support from friends and allies. Together, we will build a safer world.

Every year around 9/11, I watch "The Man in the Red Bandana." It's a tribute to former Boston College lacrosse player Welles Crowther, who died after saving nearly 20 lives that day. Political debates don't matter in the grand scheme of things. Heroes like Welles do. ❤️🇺🇸
