Orlando City SC won the prestigious Patterson Cup (the big U-13 and U-14 tournament for MLS clubs) in both age groups this year. The tournament wrapped up yesterday. Congrats to them!

Patterson Cup Champions 🏆 Big congrats to our U13 and U14 academy teams for winning their respective finals in Kansas City 👏

Mateo Velasquez (‘12), a striker, won the Golden Boot with 8 goals in 6 for Orlando U-13’s. Often plays up with U-14’s, and is one who got good reviews. Maxi Alvarez (‘11), a versatile midfielder and leader, got good reviews for the Orlando U-14’s in captaining them to victory.

Orlando are U-14 Champions after just winning Patterson Cup in this 2011 age group. They also had an elite 2011 visit the club yesterday with an eye towards a potential move eventually. Things are going well for them in the ‘11 age group!

Highly rated 2011 born winger Rijkaard Atali ('11) is joining Orlando City SC. He left Houston Dynamo after last season due to differences between the two sides in his usage. He wanted more playing time with the 2010's, and didn't get very much. Good pickup for Orlando City.
