SB 79 ONLY applies near train stations and buses that run on their own dedicated roadway. There are no train stations or bus rapid transit lines in the Pacific Palisades. The closest train line is the Metro E Line, which ends in downtown Santa Monica.

In a rare bipartisan moment in the Assembly, Sharon Quirk-Silva, Joe Patterson, and Josh Hoover stand next to one another to support a housing bill by Senator Scott Wiener. Assemblymembers Rick Chavez Zbur and Jose Luis Solache (both dems) voted no. So did most Republicans.

SB79 is currently on Gavin Newsom's desk. It’s a law that would speed up housing construction near transit and begin to address the massive housing crisis in our state. Passing it through the legislature was a huge victory for housing advocates and everyone who wants California

Today, I joined Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, UnidosUS & Casita Coalition for a briefing on AB 1154(Carrillo), co-sponsored by California YIMBY. The bill removes owner-occupancy for JADUs, giving homeowners more flexibility & unlocking more affordable homes. Now we wait for the Gov.’s signature!
