...the issue includes a concept paper by Jordan Cuff 🕸️🧬🕷️ and colleagues on how nutrition determines the structure of ecological networks: buff.ly/3ApxO4n
Catch Editor in Chief Jordan Cuff 🕸️🧬🕷️ speaking International Congress of Entomology 2024 Kyoto JP today on networking nutrients: integrating #nutrients into #networks to investigate the drivers and structures of entomological interactions confit.atlas.jp/guide/event/ic… #ICE2024 #ICE2024Kyoto
PM nutritional ecology session opens with Ecological Entomology EiC Dr. Sheena Cotter. Starving insects die faster when infected, but infected insects choose more protein and do better. Protein reduces bacterial load, but because it hinders bacterial growth, not heightened immune response. #ice2024
Looking forward to talking to people about Agricultural and Forest Entomology! Come along and say hello if you're free during Thursday's poster session! #ice2024
📢MAMBO's coordinator Toke Thomas Høye is attending the International Congress of Entomology 2024 Kyoto JP🇯🇵. Earlier today he gave a presentation on #species monitoring with #insect camera traps and deep learning #models.👏 #ICE2024
Ever thought about #editing a #journal? We are looking for new #AssociateEditors - come and see us at stand 6 International Congress of Entomology 2024 Kyoto JP to find out more #ICE2024 #ICE2024Kyoto #entomology #WileyEcolEvol
If you're interested in becoming an Associate Editor for Agricultural and Forest Entomology and want to know more, come chat with me or Chris Ranger throughout #ICE2024! We'll also be at the 'pitch a paper' session at the Royal Entomological Society stand during Thursday's poster session to talk about AFE.
Come see our poster at International Congress of Entomology 2024 Kyoto JP P0657 on bio-based control options for cabbage stem flea beetle! #CSFB Patry Ortega-Ramos Dion Garrett Rothamsted Research 🪲
One of our trustees Prof Seirian Sumner opens the social insect session! Genes and their expression are associated with caste, but the genes differ with social complexity. Genome 'juggling' doesn't clearly predict sociality but superorganismal specie genomes are well conserved. #ICE2024
Great to see our #SilentCities dataset published in Scientific Data! With 261 colleagues globally, we collected audio when human isolation during the #covid19 pandemic had drastically changed the #soundscape of the urban ecosystem Sch. Biol. & Env. Sc UCD Earth Institute nature.com/articles/s4159…
If you've enjoyed the agricultural entomology at #ICE2024, come along to Royal Entomological Society #SusAg24 this November at Newcastle University! 🌾🪲🐞🐝🌱 After last year's excellent meeting, this year will focus on innovations in research and practice in sustainable agricultural entomology!
We had a busy #PitchYourPaper session at the RES stand International Congress of Entomology 2024 Kyoto JP and enjoyed talking to conference participants about their research. The Agricultural and Forest Entomology editors will be at #Ento24 and look forward to chatting to participants there too! #entomology #WileyEcolEvol #insects
Great talk from Patry Ortega-Ramos at #ICE2024! Cabbage stem flea beetle devastates oilseed rape! Sowing date, field size and weather affect CSFB distribution but we lack control. CSFB development differs between crop lines, but varies over time. CSFB parasitism rates change annually.
It was great hearing about upcoming paper submissions and people interested in the open call for Agricultural and Forest Entomology Associate Editors at #ICE2024! Looking forward to similar discussions at #Ento24 as part of the AFE dream team!
