A fab evening last night at National Opera Studio seeing a host of great students performing scenes by Britten both staged and on film, led by Keith Warner and Jonathan Haswell. The scenes from Gloriana and Turn of the Screw were awesome - these guys are ready!
Just conducted my fortieth Tosca (with Mid Wales Opera / Opera Canolbarth Cymru, fab cast led by @PritchardElin, Charne Rochford, Nic Folwell and the brilliant Ensemble Cymru at Theatr Clwyd Theatr Clwyd). After all these years it’s still a bloody difficult little show! 😉

Today I finished the score for Mrs Peachum’s Guide to Love and Marriage. Derived from John Gay, reworked by Richard Studer, tours this autumn Mid Wales Opera / Opera Canolbarth Cymru, @carolyndobbin. No overture yet - they’ll have to lock me in a room (like they did with Rossini)!
