Our Engineer Joanna is carrying out #soilinfiltrationtesting in accordance with BRE365. Work was spec'd by the clients' drainage engineer, ahead of a new road being built. We'll provide infiltration rates of the soil and if suitable, the drainage engineer will design #soakaways .

Jomas visited a site in Surrey last week, to determine the ground’s bearing capacity to support a structure.
On this site the #PlateBearingtesting was needed to make sure the #groundconditions were secure to be able to support heavy machinery.

Access restraints on this project were a challenge. Using a deep windowless sampler borehole, whilst retaining the liners in metre sections, allowed us to obtain the necessary samples.

Our #groundinvestigation works in Hove, included boreholes to a maximum depth of 25mbgl, and a series of #dynamicprobes across the footprint of the proposed building.
Access was challenging but by putting together a day-by-day plan, we managed to carry out works successfully.

Jomas were appointed to undertake a #geotechnical and #geoenvironmental #siteinvestigation at a project in Kent.

The scope of the investigation comprised a series of cable percussive and windowless sampler boreholes, machine-excavated and hand-dug trial pits.

The scope of work here involved 4 hand pits up to 1.2m below ground level, to take shallow soil samples, in order to assess the ground for contamination purposes.

Jomas were commissioned to supervise and validate removal of underground fuel storage tanks at a former filling station in southwest London.
These works formed part of the remediation strategy required for proposed residential redevelopment of the site.
