2 days ago we informed the authorities about a distress case at sea. Yesterday, the boat began to sink. Despite our calls, there was no rescue effort by authorities. The NGO RESQSHIP rescued the people. Meanwhile, the shipwreck of a super-rich yacht made headlines worldwide.

I really struggle to understand why holding water companies to account for the colossal damage they have done is such a challenge? Many protected landscapes owned by English water firms in disrepair, data shows theguardian.com/environment/ar…

Just your casual reminder that almost every problem experienced by patients in the NHS can be traced back to deliberate central-government decisions.

Through an EIR request I was recently sent Natural England's response to the independent review on Dartmoor's protected sites, its SSSIs ("Fursdon Review"). It makes for fascinating reading ... the following, IMO, is spot on in terms of describing Dartmoor's woeful state ... 🧵

Morning all. I'm a bit sick of how refugees are routinely dehumanised in public discourse. So I've decided to run 240 miles in 9 days, from where I live in West Wales to a gig in London, to make some noise and raise money for Refugee Action. More here: gofundme.com/f/henry-morris…

Just as an observation on this: Currently, there are about 800k people who are eligible for Pension Credit but don't claim. If they all now claim (as they should!), the cost is c.£7.5bn-10bn. For Reeves to "break even," she needs additional take-up to be below a quarter.
