On this day in 1976, the Arkansas governor declared March 20 Johnny Cash Day. Celebrations kicked off in Kingsland as Cash boarded the SL&SW Cotton Belt train to Rison. Greeted by a large crowd, he received the key to the city and performed for 10,000 fans.
