Houston Landing journalists took home nine awards from the Texas Managing Editors journalism contest at the group’s annual conference this weekend, including first-place awards in feature writing and specialty reporting. bit.ly/49IJ5sI
Very proud to win the Texas Managing Editors community service award with my colleagues for our series on high speed chases. I’m deeply grateful to the Houstonians who trusted us with their stories. Their courage prompted change and hopefully the roads are safer for everyone.
So incredibly proud of the @hou_landing team for winning NINE journalism awards in the Texas Managing Editors contest.
We’re less than a year old yet this talented group is already doing incredible work. I can't wait to see what the future holds.

Maria Pineda's case is part of the soaring 3.4 million immigration court backlog. But getting her case out of court had an unexpected consequence.

With the immigration court backlog at more than 3.4 million, the govt is trying to dismiss more cases to get them out of court.
But that can have unintended consequences for some immigrants like Maria Pineda
