The train departs Fort William at 08.50 followed by a break in Mallaig from 10.50 to 11.30 before retracing our outward route with an arrival back in Fort William at 13.20. Tickets are available onboard and are priced at £40 per adult and £20 pp for under 16’s.

After a long, protracted and painful overhaul 45118 is due to leave Barrow Hill at the end of April.

That’s a wrap! Today is my last day in charge of Scotland’s Railway after nearly seven years in the job. It’s been the privilege of my life to run this country’s railway and work with the amazing people at ScotRail and Network Rail Scotland to deliver for customers. I’ll miss you. 😢

Something unexpected and slightly different today which involved getting 37612 from Woking to Eastleigh Works for attention via a run round in Woking station. GBRf 66791 provided the power running as 0Z66.

Lots of interest for this one today. 37418 ex 37271 on 2Z01 Vic Ton pushing saloon car 975025. Not bad for a 60 year old. TBH Loram should have done this in Large Logo BR Blue.
