Hey Joe Pike, Any reason why you have missed out our Liberal Democrat candidate? The person who actually lives here and had been a councillor here for 21 years. I note you had the opportunity to speak with her yesterday but declined. Any reason?

This is appalling. Why didn’t Piccadilly’s Labour councillors stop this from happening!? Yet another example of Manchester Labour kowtowing to businesses and developers – overwriting the city’s rich history and stories, and forcing out the very people who make it what it is.

It is utterly appalling that Labour councillors allowed such meaningful artwork created by those with experience of homelessness to be covered over with stuff for the BRIT awards in Manchester City centre. Beyond belief. manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-m…

Hate and division have no place in our city. Britain First is not welcome in Manchester. We understand that far right groups cause alarm in our communities. We feel it too. (1/2)

Current polls show that the winner of this by-election here in Manchester could win on just 30% of all votes cast on Thursday. If that happens, 70% of votes will be ignored and not matter. It's about time that every vote was equal - it's time for proportional representation.

Parents of SEND children are constantly fighting for the right support, all while private equity firms cash in and siphon taxpayers’ money offshore. The Lib Dems will cap profits at 8% and treat SEND as critical national infrastructure.

Interesting to see this on the leaflet Labour are giving out here. They completely forget to mention that every Labour councillor in Manchester, including the Labour candidate for this by-election, voted against the Lib Dem motion at council to scrap the two child benefit cap!

Deeply shocked by the reports of an incident at Manchester Central Mosque last night. My thoughts are with the whole Muslim community in the holy month of Ramadan Thank you to all whose swift action stopped tragedy. We must stand united against Islamophobia and all forms of hate

NEW: Labour embroiled in dirty tricks row on eve of Gorton and Denton by-election. The party has put out a leaflet saying "Tactical Choice" say voters should back them to beat Reform. Only, Tactical Choice don't appear to exist. Story 👇 huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/labour-a…

Make Votes Matter (@makevotesmatter) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Election campaigns should be about debating ideas - not fighting over bar charts and conflicting tactical voting advice. People should be able to vote with hope, not to block the party they fear. If we don't want every election to look like Gorton & Denton, we must scrap FPTP.

Good luck today, Jackie Pearcey! Labour have taken Mancunians for granted for far too long. The thing they fear most is this- opposition. The campaign they have run here in Manchester is beyond shocking, even for them. It's time for something better.

Manchester wants opposition. The Liberal Democrats are the official opposition on the council- Join us today and help us to increase our opposition to this out of touch Labour party 🥀 libdems.my.salesforce-sites.com/LiberalDemocra…

Thank you Jackie Pearcey for flying the flag for the Liberal Democrats in the Gorton and Denton by-election. We need brave people like you who stand defiant in the face of division and populism.

The Gorton and Denton by-election shows people are bitterly disappointed with Labour but horrified by the rise of Reform. In many parts of the country, it's the Liberal Democrats who can stop Reform.
