🚀 (1/8) Excited to share our ALife 2024 paper on studying the spatio-temporal continuity of Neural Cellular Automata (NCA). We propose NoiseNCA and show that it learns dynamics that correspond to PDEs. This enables many cool features (shown in the thread) noisenca.github.io

Ever tried creating an image with exactly N objects? It’s nearly impossible with current text-to-image methods. In our latest work, we address this challenge and introduce a new iterative counting optimization for SD. Try our colab: colab.research.google.com/drive/1ILVrX28… Project page:

Predictions are very important but I also think parameters are important for capturing the ‘theoretical content’ of models. Here’s a brief summary article on models etc, as well as an attempt to link param & predictions. 1 researchspace.auckland.ac.nz/bitstream/hand… and 2 journals.plos.org/ploscompbiol/a…

Great to be able to share this preprint! Once again, influenza A viruses seemingly get the last laugh. This time, by puppeteering a dying cell to facilitate its intercellular transmission. Thanks to everyone involved! 🦠🔬 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

🚨 Latest preprint: "Where's Ben Nevis?" 🏔️🏔️!! A fun paper by Yuhang Wei that started as his summer undergraduate project, and Michael Clerx, using Ordnance Survey open Terrain50 data as a benchmark 2D optimisation function (optimum=Ben Nevis!) doi.org/10.48550/arXiv… 🧵1/7

nature.com/articles/s4146… Lint, a new tool to measure Crossover Interference, the greatest mystery in the field of #Meiosis4ever. Lint is complementary to the classical coefficient of coincidence (CoC). Bonus, a easy online tool to plot both CoC and Lint from your data 👇

Big & Clean Labeled Data is everything in AI, in this project we tried to go to the extreme and reached the 1 Billion mark, which was done before in natural images in LAION, CLIP, diffusions, SAM, etc.. but this is the first in medical imaging that a BILLION is reached

(almost) legit cool research? In *my* sigbovik?? "A Creeper Hole is Worth 16x16x16 Words: Transformers for Block Deterioration at Stale" Using a diffusion model to inpaint the holes left by creeper explosions

Inspired by 2swap's Klotski visualization video, I asked claude to make interactive state-space adjacency graph visualization, using Three.js and InstancedMesh for optimized rendering. It nearly zero-shot it. Absolutely wild time we live in.
