Our cows are into some decent grass at last. We're still trying to achieve decent residuals but the wet weather doesn't help.

This is incredibly rich from a monopoly sector which has spent decades hammering UK farmers to the point where many are frequently forced to sell below their own costs of production while retailers import cheaper, lower quality food at the drop of a hat to boost record profits.

The Sudan continues to bleed.

I got invited to Darlington Mowden Park to enjoy an evening with Wayne Barnes Friday night. It was a great event and brilliant to hear the great man comfortably talking about #JCBs and plant hire on our table.

The Sudan and also South Sudan are fabulous places with incredible people but what goes on there while the world turns its back is appalling.

230 cows calved so far and they're outside day and night. It's taking a bit of pressure off the diminishing silage stocks. Let's hope the weather holds.
