Just in time for my class on the Georgics (and Quintilian Bk 10) this summer JACT Durham Greek & Latin Summer School!
Lovely to get my author copies of the Alaudae translation cooked up by Michael Lombardi-Nash. I hadn’t read my translation (of Issue 7) since I sent it off in 2021, so it was delightful to revisit it this morning!
We’ve redesigned the JACT Durham Greek & Latin Summer School Summer School website! We’re really proud of the way it looks, so please go and have a browse! It’s optimised for laptop/desktop/tablet but is accessible on mobile …. it just doesn’t look as good! Give us a click! durhamglss.org
Back in Durham for my talk this afternoon Durham Classics and Ancient History , titled ‘When Sappho Met Lydia’. It’s a reading of the Lydia through the lenses of both Sapphic intertextuality (philologically understood) and through Sapphic desire (via Sedgwick), in time for #LGBTHistoryMonth.
