Looking forward to this great event, and to meet both old and new friends. Will make a presentation on energ-efficiency and use of hydrogen as a fuel in forging furnaces.
Really looking forward to share thoughts and discuss with the Indian steel fraternity on Tuesday on the this very important topic. We must avoid being paralyzed by analyses of all various pathways to Green Steel and get going, starting with increasing the energy-efficiency.
I was delighted to join a panel discussion at the Flame Conference in Amsterdam sharing views on the situation in Europe; “Demand reduction or demand destruction - what is temporary and what is structural?“

Decarbonization: First Fire Less, Then Fire Clean!
Always start by measures to improve energy-efficiency. Like converting into oxyfuel combustion, and then use hydrogen. The first steel reheating furnaces with oxyfuel using 100% H2 as a fuel are now in full-scale operation.
7% of world steel production found in the EU, a decrease by 15% over the last few years. 1 out of 4 tonnes used in the EU today is imported. Main explanations include higher energy costs, slow domestic economies, unpredictable energy costs, increased environmental costs.
Creating Flexibility and Agility Using Hydrogen! In our latest episode of Global Tales of Carbon Transition, we have the pleasure of talking to Göran Nyström of Ovako.

Today we launch our podcast ‘Global Tales of Carbon Transition’. Our first guest is Anne-Sophie Corbeau. Please take a listen! We appreciate ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 😊
China is the world’s largest emitter of CO2, but also the world’s largest producer of Renewable Energy as well as of equipment like Wind Turbines and Solar Power. Accordingly, to be successful in achieving Global Decarbonization, cooperation with China is necessary.
