We already have a baseline language assessment and phonics screen taking place in schools. Those tests capture the proximal causes of poor reading. Does any reading expert see value in additional 'dyslexia screening' (and know what that might be)?

#mathscpdchat best way to support non specialist teachers is to immerse them in the department as much as possible. Attend meetings, shadow teachers, opportunities to team teach as much as possible. Plus a supportive mentor/coach who they can approach with any questions.
