Yesterday Alex Sarama asked me recommendations for coaches to improve their methods. I told him I didn't have a one-fits-all recipe. All I could recommend was to question everything: knowing the WHY behind everything. 🧵👇 Copy-paste is a fraud.

Ancelotti in his presentation “After 40 years I still don’t know the system that wins games” “The system has to depend on the characteristics of the players you have, so that the player feels comfortable on the field. To take advantage of the enormous quality this country has”

Fantastic video, potentially revolutionary. As a plus it was amazing to see a learning design I coached used in the video, with the ecological dynamics underpinning seen and described so thoughtfully.

System Failure FC I think it was James Vaughan PhD who talked about how soccer- at its core- is a collaboration. Anywhere soccer is played, although it is a competition with winners & losers, we must agree on the nature of how we compete- meaning that in order to compete, we must first collaborate.

Nick Smallridge James Vaughan PhD Beautifully said. That’s the paradox that makes soccer so powerful— We compete within a shared understanding, not against it. Every game is a social contract. Collaboration is the foundation—without it, there’s no game at all.

JOGO FUNCIONAL Football&footballers shouldn't look the same in every corner of the 🌎 but we're living within of the homologation and standardisation starting by academies, their cultures, visions&organisations Top managements need to rethink their paradigms but is easier copy&paste everything

For real football learning, focus on representative, game-like practice to improve retention, adaptability, transfer, & decision-making. Isolated drills help with basics but shouldn’t be overrated—they offer less transfer & flexibility. Game-like training offers the best benefit!

In a football world of hyper physicality, pressing and set pieces, Argentina's La Nuestra is just different. Passing, moving, combining, deceiving, imagining, creating, failing... I guess there's a reason why József Bozsik calls Scaloni's Argentina 'the last football team'. 🧉

🙏🏻 James Vaughan PhD for joining England Futsal this evening & sharing your thoughts & work on relationism with the coaches from our High Performance Coach Mentor Programme. It sparked my mind, & understanding its socio-cultural roots was particularly fascinating & relevant to futsal
