Today, Sheilagh O'Leary and I announced the NDP commitment to removing the provincial HST from all forms of home heating. Not just electricity, but wood, oil, and propane. We would keep the $500 oil rebate in place to ensure that more money goes back into peoples pockets.

Seven months ago, the Liberals said cutting the HST from home heating couldn’t be done. They blocked you from saving money — just so they could campaign on it later. If I’d known it would take an election for them to act, I would’ve called for one every week.

We know that senior couples being separated in long-term care can cause anxiety and fear. This impacts health outcomes, adding more stress to an already stressful time in one's life. Seniors in this province deserve a better deal.

We weren’t afraid to share our platform. That’s because we know every vote must be earned — we’re not entitled to it. Every party released parts of their platform throughout the campaign. That’s no excuse for failing to publish your full platform in a timely manner.
