Today is the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Today, we remember the tens of thousands of Jews who were murdered there and all who survived against all odds, as well as the brave members of the British Armed Forces who liberated the camp.

Mike Katz has served as our Chair since 2019. We are incredibly grateful for his dedicated service and leadership of JLM. We look forward to continuing to cheer Mike Katz on in his new roles. Congratulations to Cllr Ella Rose-Jacobs who has stepped up to serve as our Interim Chair.

Mike has been a rock at the heart of Jewish Labour Movement for over a decade. Our loss is the Lords’ gain. In the interim, I’m honoured to be stepping up as our Chair. JLM is a special organisation, one with over 100 years of history. I’m proud to be a small part of that.

It's been such an honour to lead JLM's resilient and inspirational activists & members. Now I'm a member of the Govt, it's only right I step down as chair. I'll be forever proud of how JLM stood up to antisemitism in Labour, helping to save the Party and making it fit to govern.
