*Worthing Hospital maternity services* You may be aware of concerns that Worthing Hospital could downgrade its maternity services. Dr Beccy Cooper MP and I met with the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust executive team yesterday.

Adur is at the heart of Sussex Energy launched today. This will contribute to a zero-carbon electricity system, safeguarding the environment, creating jobs and lowering energy bills. It’s part of our commitment to making Adur fairer and greener. greaterbrighton.com/first-net-zero…

Thank you @SussexUnderwater Catrine Priestley and Eric Smith for a great presentation at The Shoreham Society last night. Thank you to everyone restoring kelp and biodiversity in our Sussex Bay waters. And remember to put beached cuttlefish eggs back into the sea!

Today I made my first contribution in the chamber, asking about the Government’s plan for addressing staffing shortages like those that have affected Worthing Hospital maternity services. I was glad to hear they will do so through the long term workforce plan.

These national actions will work with Sussex Energy, launched last week to contribute to local zero-carbon electricity, safeguarding the environment, creating jobs and lowering energy bills. It’s part of our councils’ commitment to making Adur and Worthing fairer and greener.

Thank you Adur parks staff - a consultation with residents was followed up by action at Park Avenue open space. More of the space has been mowed but significant areas are allowed to grow to benefit insects, nature and the environment. And we have the fruit trees!

One or two turned out to oppose the racists in Brighton this evening. Well done peaceful people making a stand against right-wing intimidation and violence.

Well done to everyone taking part or organising the #Shorehamraftrace today, raising money for local charities - and having fun! I was there with Cllr Becky Allinson. Another great event in the ward we represent.

I’m delighted Adur’s planning committee approved plans to complete the flood wall at the Sussex Yacht Club in Shoreham. In April nearby homes and a business were inundated by floodwater. We are determined to complete the long overdue flood defences bbc.co.uk/news/articles/….
