I declined to participate in the PEN America World Voices Festival bc I couldn't understand how an organization like PEN refused to unequivocally defend Palestinian journalists and writers.

New on the blog today, I've written about REMEMBERING LAUGHTER by Wallace Stegner.
There are hints of Edith Wharton in this beautifully written story of marital infidelity, intense bitterness and the refusal to forgive. My contribution to the #1937Club .
