This is horrifying. Hateful, violent rhetoric is never simply rhetoric, and the pundits, politicians, and influencers who spout it without any concern for the violence it will likely inspire are truly unconscionable.

As a former GOP voter (now an independent for all of you folks who would reflexively call me a liberal democrat), I concur. This is a must-read from Mark Leibovich.

Openly saying that in the absence of evidence he would have cheated and subverted the US Constitution. Not sure how anyone who calls themself a conservative or a patriot can support this.

It's a serious problem in this country when a vice presidential candidate can admit a rumor is false, yet still urge his supporters to continue spreading it anyway.

Over 630k followers and check out the likes. That right there is what worries me most. There will always be conspiracy kooks or conmen trying to get folks riled up, but so many in our times follow these people. That's the most disconcerting part. We're literally asking for this.

Every time I think things can't get any stupider, they do. There are people across the globe suffering on a massive scale: at war, starving, oppressed, terrorized, unjustly imprisoned. And we're playing ridiculous games with the highest office in the land. It's grotesque.

This is not a serious man. But then, we're not a serious people, are we? Because if we were, he wouldn't be anywhere near government and neither would his running mate.

Masks/vaccines did reduce transmission, Trump did collude with Russia, and the OH rumor has been denied by authorities. This is how conspiracies spread, and I don't understand the eagerness to do it. I'm weary of willful deceit, especially by those who claim to know Christ.
