Scissors Satin Doll 5M was one of our first purebred calves born - here we are 22 years later with another “M” group calving close to 200 cows including the commercials! Love chasing this cattle dream still - now with our kids as well!!

Why we do the extra work as purebred breeders right here - full sisters born a year apart - out of our sons cow that he made the breeding decision on that resulted in one of the best heifer calves we have ever raised and this morning we woke up to an almost identical sister 😊

3 days away from the 7th Annual Whitewood Farmers & Friends curling bonspiel! Our small town, population of less than 1000, will host 300 curlers on 9 sheets of ice for 4 days! Over half a million dollars raised in the first 6 years - how much will that total grow this year!?!

Yorkton Spring Steer & Heifer show was great to these kids! Laundry for days, sore feet for a week but memories and life lessons to last a lifetime 😀! Kids are fortunate to have a great group of friends to do this show thing with - looking forward to the spring/summer show run!

Exciting to have such a great Sask team to cheer for right now!!

180 pairs sorted into breeding groups, 100 calves vaccinated and CIDRs pulled on 35 cows in the AI group over 2.5 days with hubby and kids!Beautiful weather and doing it all as a family and hardly feels like work! This livelihood can be so tough some days but so amazing as well!

From vaccinating calves in a t-shirt to winter coat weather in a matter of days 😏 Is it even spring in Sask without some shit April weather 🤔 Moisture is welcome snow is not!! Bring back the sun to warm up the calves and dry up the corrals (and fields)☀️

2.5” of rain in 6 days and the paddocks look more like corrals and the cows (and maybe people feeding them) are getting more miserable by the day 😬 need to keep reminding ourselves of the green grass and hay crops instead! Thankful for the moisture but hate the mud!!

Trailer cleaned, truck & trailer washed, steer & heifer washed, tack packed - clipping tonight and then jackpot ready for the morning 😊 it takes a lot to drag these calves up and down the show road but absolutely love doing it and have some great friends to do it with! #showmom

Hauling out pairs between seeding rain delays! Getting pairs out of the muddy yard onto green pasture is one of the best feelings!! We have been blessed with lots of early moisture to get pastures and crops off to a great start!

I have these thoughts every year when it’s time to say goodbye and wrote them down this time - I have never liked this part - this year we had a really special one!!
