1/5 - It can happen to anyone. 7 wks ago I was attacked whilst riding, will spare details; I believe/hope that the intention was to steal my bike. It included trying to ram me head-on & swerving into me to knock me off. I managed to get to safety with bike, I still don’t know how

2/5 I haven’t returned to the location but was working towards this as part of the healing process. Last Monday I headed out for a longer ride with the belief that this would be very unlikely to happen a second time. (I have over the past 8 weeks ridden solo on short 2-3hr rides)

3/5 I couldn’t have been more wrong when I was targeted, followed, close passed twice and leered at by 2 guys on mopeds. I believe that they may have been waiting for me around the next corner where it became more remote, except I hid in someone’s front garden too scared to ride.

4/5 I did make it home safely. Would be interested if anyone else has had similar. I wasn’t riding my race bike, I was riding a lesser known make. Confidence is low, I don’t want to let the bad guys win. We should be able to ride bikes without fear of intimidation & assault.

5/5 I know it is ok to not be ok. My 'ok' will be back in time.

What a wonderful Mum, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Mother to the Nation. Yes we will mourn but we should also celebrate an incredible person. 💔 Thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family.
