Sapir's analysis follows similar findings in a paper published in June by German researchers who found that, in Germany, after five years, only 36% of youths with a gender-dysphoria-related diagnosis still had that diagnosis in their medical chart. researchgate.net/publication/38…

Sapir estimates based on medical claims data that 320,000 to 400,000 U.S. residents age 17.5 years and younger were diagnosed with a gender dysphoria-related condition between 2017 and 2023. The annual tally increased steadily over that time.

Sapir charted that over the 7 years of data his team had on hand, gender dysphoria related diagnoses fell out of individual young people's charts steadily.

If gender dysphoria does not tend to persist in adolescents, as Leor Sapir found, this undermines a central principle backing gender transitions. Here, Dr. Robert Garofalo, a gender MD at Lurie Children's in Chicago, expresses the philosophy that kids should lead the way:

This follows failure of the application for judicial review of the temporary ban on new non-NHS prescriptions of puberty blockers for adolescents, litigation for which the GLP raised c£60,000 in crowdfunding, and other unsuccessful litigation supported by the GLP in this field

Please don’t get excited about this. It’s misleading. Yes they say they’re accepting the findings but having watched the ministerial statement today it’s quite clear that their interpretations of the findings still aren’t clear and the ideology is still there. It’s not a win.

Seems optimism regarding the Scottish news was a false dawn. As you were people, utter insanity obtains elsewhere in the system even with Cass being notionally adopted.

Without Joylon on the other side the danger now of course is they'll be (comparatively) more disciplined and might actually maybe win a court case and not have to be slapped down by the national independent advisor on preventing suicide. Careful what you wish for I suppose.

Five weeks after the head of the Good Law Project, Jo Maugham, left Twitter, having been upbraided by the UK suicide czar for claiming baselessly of suicide surge in gender dysphoric youths, the British nonprofit is stepping away from trans-related work altogether.

Student politics and small thinking. A Government with a 174 seat majority can reshape the country. We've had smoking bans, Ofsted report changes and a pointless (and partial) arms embargo designed for political consumption not material effect. This isn't minimum wage/human

I do wish some Americans would stop posting their country will be violently finished if the other side wins the presidency. We changed power here peacefully without incident a month back. That should be the aim and a virtue whatever the result, not this excited doomsday nonsense

The Lib Dems now have a rather undeserved serious number of seats in parliament. The Times is therefore quite right to calls upon them to abandon silly election gimmicks and address a serious issue (one way or the other). Let's hear it Liberal Democrats - where are you on Cass?

🧵1/ It is not true that the removal of Israel arms licenses was a legal decision. Keir Starmer should not hide behind this fig leaf. It was *very* much a political decision. #PMQs I know this, because as Trade Secretary, responsible for arms licenses, I saw the legal advice.
