#TheNarrowRoadtotheDeepNorth is brilliant, as I expected Kurzel’s adaptation to be, but I’ve resorted to subtitles for the bad sound. Pathetic to say, but I’m finding it too tough a watch. I know the brutality was relentless, but I want to turn off the endless horrific scenes.

It’s very difficult to do books on TV but Between the Covers got it right. Just the sort of show the BBC should be doing. I know they’re short of funds but this is a real shame.

Martin Scorsese & Robert De Niro have made 10 films together- none better than Goodfellas. It still baffles me to this day that De Niro didn’t receive an Oscar nomination for this film. His performance isn’t as bombastic as Pesci, but it’s just as important & far more nuanced.

Saw Simon Stone’s highly entertaining version of Ibsen’s #theladyfromthesea at The Bridge Theatre tonight. Staging was very effective and Andrew Lincoln was superb. Added bonus of seeing Jon Kortajarena in the audience.
