Doing research on my next TikTok video (insanely cool topic incoming) and stumbled on my new favorite dedication in a dissertation, by Jay Stafstrom

Thrilled to share a *NEW PRE-PRINT* I’ve been working on for the last few years! Michael Sheehan, W. Freiwald, and I describe the neural correlates of individual facial recognition in a social wasp, Polistes fuscatus. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… 1/10

IT'S OUT!! Monumental work describing what goes on in the brain of a wasp that recognizes conspecifics by their face. Chris Jernigan has shown face cells in a wasp! AH, so excited. Surely to be seen in textbooks soon. Congrats Chris and Michael Sheehan - truly inspirational work.

New research from us about super-stretchy silk threads, in collaboration with Peter Michalik and Martín Ramírez

🚨I am thrilled to finally share the amazing news of being awarded an Emmy Noether grant from DFG public | @[email protected]. In the next years, my group will focus on comprehensively studying (REM) sleep behavior, its function & ecology, in a comparative evolutionary framework using #spiders! 🕷️💤

Yaay! First ever cover! 🥳 super happy for this excellent work lead by Massimo De Agrò to be out! Having 8 eyes is crazy- thanks to Massimo we’re getting a bit closer to understanding how it all might work for jumping spiders. journals.biologists.com/jeb/article/22…
