Carrot 🥕 harvest at the NFREC-SV in our long term Florida Dept. of Agriculture & Consumer Services funded sod based rotation project. Witnessing the carrot harvest process was a highlight at our community field day program this weekend.

Yesterday, Paulette Tomlinson (UF/IFAS Ext Columbia Co) and Erin Dasher (UF/IFAS Ext Suwannee Co) hosted a pasture tour focused on the dry corners in our sod-based rotation project. It was a great opportunity for hands-on learning focused on pasture management and BMPs.

This past week I attended a six-day workshop UGA Griffin Campus on DSSAT, a crop modeling program used to simulate agricultural systems and their interactions with climate and environmental conditions. Great experience learning alongside 70+ professionals from around the world! 🌾

Today the FSHS agro-ecology and natural resource section toured the Echo North America Impact Center in Fort Myers, FL. Echo is a Christian-based international development organization dedicated to increasing food security through sustainable agriculture.

Congratulations to our CLUE faculty promoted this month. Their commitment and achievements allow us to continue our mission to protect and conserve Florida’s valuable water and other natural resources, promoting an environmentally vibrant life for Florida’s citizens.

Grateful for the opportunity to attend NACAA/AMPIC 2025 in Montana. A big thank you to Montana State University for hosting an excellent conference! I was fortunate to have some time off to explore nearby national parks: Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton.
