Why would any parent go out of their way to see to it that their healthy infant son or daughter has protective sexual tissue surgically removed? The only thing that should motivate a parent to submit their child to surgery is immediate medical need. Otherwise it’s just…

If the US govt really wants to make inroads on addressing autism — which I believe seems more prevalent mainly because of changing definitions and diagnoses — it should impose an emergency health moratorium on infant circumcision. Not this completely specious claim about Tylenol.

Could infant circumcision go wrong? It often does (> 10%). Could it go horribly wrong? It often does (> 2%). That adds up to to over 100,000 botched infant circumcisions annually in the USA alone. Why would any parent consent to this? Why would any ethical doctor offer this?

I think the weirdest American take on things — and there are many 😂 — is: “Sorry, but not cutting off my newborn son’s foreskin is just too radical an idea for me.”

Jason Fairfield (@jasonfairfield0) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Maybe the AAP won’t be able to hold any more Task Farces on infant circumcision, in which they beat the bushes for any shred of legitimacy to chopping up healthy infant penis and stretch common sense to the breaking point. Cringeworthy and craven, all to prop up an indu$$try.

If the AAP and other medical groups emphasize that parental choice to cut or not cut is equally wise and valid… … doesn’t it make sense that not cutting newborns is sound & safe and routine circumcision could be banned to best protect children’s interests and human rights?

In German, circumcision is called die Beschneidung (the trimming), like you would prune a plant. 🪴😠 If you cluster the same letters a little differently, you get Diebe Schneidung, or thieves cutting. Because that’s what circumcisers of healthy minors are: thieves for ✡️☪️ or💰

Yesterday the United States withdrew from the World Health Organization (WHO) and I can’t say I’m altogether disappointed. WHO’s insane defense of and promotion of male circumcision is immoral, particularly of infants and children. No study has proven a net benefit. #consent

Phimosis — when the foreskin can’t be pulled back over the glans. Many think it’s a disease. Often — it’s completely normal. Let’s break it down 🧵👇

When I meet someone who isn’t circumcised, my first thought isn’t that it’s cool they have foreskin. It’s that I’m relieved they didn’t enter this world with mind-bending pain and lifelong sexual reduction a day after being born. Their rights were respected and brain spared.

I vigorously support freedom of religion, as long as it does not involve harming, or even touching, children. That goes for male and female genital cutting and anything else that violates the epidermis of a minor. Leave children’s bodies the fuck out of religious practices.

“Why do you like being circumcised?” Because when I’m naked girls can see all of my penis, including the permanently exposed head. Oh, yeah! “They never see all of your penis, my guy, because half your dickskin — the best half — was cut off and thrown away (or sold) at birth.”
