On 12 Mar, Amb. Sasayama met with Mr. John Musinguzi Rujoki, Commissioner General of URA. They had a fruitful discussion on the topics around economic development including taxation. Japan assured Uganda of continuous support on Uganda.

On 16 April, Amb. Sasayama 🤝 Rt. Hon. Nabbanja, PM of 🇺🇬, attended a Joint Press Conference with various 🇺🇳 Agencies which received support from the Gov’t of 🇯🇵 this year, at the Office of PM. This support will contribute to problem solution in 🇺🇬 by urgent intervention.

With funding support from Embassy of Japan in Uganda 🇯🇵 🇺🇬, the Child Protection System Strengthening Project in Arua City and District is transforming lives by equipping frontline Social Welfare Officers with the skills to protect vulnerable children from abuse and neglect.

On 24 Jun, Dep. Amb. Yoshimura handed over the newly constructed 4-classroom block at Nakivubo Primary School in Kampala City. Many guests attended the ceremony and celebrated together.

Nakivubo PS welcomed us with a spectacular dance performance and expressed their appreciation for our partnership. We are deeply grateful for the warm welcome we received. The new classroom block is expected to enhance the education environment at the school.

On 3 July, Amb. Sasayama met Ms. Lauren Landis, the new country director of the WFP and assured Japan's continuous support to them.

On 3 July, Amb. Sasayama visited the Kasubi Tombs, the UNESCO heritage, and was impressed by the historical monument of the Buganda kingdom. Amb. was pleased to hear that Japan's support on disaster management to the Kasubi tombs is appreciated.
