Alternate take: Fifty-nine school authorities will continue to struggle to offer consistent mental health supports. This piecemeal approach to funding makes it hard for school boards to attract, train, and retain the quality staff needed to deliver effective programming.

My thoughts on the potential stoppage on Canada's rail network. Like many Canadians, I am deeply concerned about the prospect of a work stoppage on our railroads starting this evening. A strike or lockout will have a devastating impact on workers and on the Canadian economy.

Alberta NDP MLAs Dr. Luanne Metz & Janet Eremenko, Official Opposition critics for Health & Mental Health and Addictions respectively, were in Okotoks to talk healthcare.

Politicians should be supporting best practices. We need full spectrum of care for people with addictions. Yes we need recovery care but we need other options including prevention/ harm reduction. We do not all wear the same brand of jeans- different people often need a

With or without Insite, people were going to use, because that's addiction. Supervised Consumption Sites reduce harm, and they can ultimately provide a way out. #ableg thestar.com/opinion/contri…

As a parent of kids with complex needs this new re organization is going to be a nightmare. Referrals & navigating the systems was hard enough. This? AHS needs improvement. But this is NOT how to do it Frontline workers & patients/caregivers should be part of this. #ableg

Cancelling the Green Line means more bumper-to-bumper traffic with no relief. Nobody is asking for that. Just like nobody is asking for more dangerous jobs at lower pay and for their CPP to be taken away. We need a government that cares about you. #FinanceFriday

There are real consequences to the UCP’s decision to kill the Green Line. Homes and land purchased, buildings torn down, infrastructure cleared, lands prepared, utilities moved… Real people, real jobs, real costs. Gone because somewhere in the last month, the UCP broke

BRT construction on Centre St paves the way for future Green Line expansion into Calgary-Beddington. The UCP killed the project only a month after confirming their commitment. A good government is reliable, but the UCP have shown us they can’t be trusted to keep their word.
