Security is high in New Orleans for Super Bowl celebrations, with hundreds of extra law enforcement patrolling the French Quarter. Many streets now have barriers and checkpoints after the attack last month that killed 14 and injured dozens more.

Police are blocking the streets around Anunciation School in south Minneapolis where they say a gunman dressed in all black opened fire this morning. They say the shooter is now “contained” and are allowing parents to pick up their kids.
