Truly a great feeling to receive this in the post today. The hard core evidence that I truly am 'Dr' Jane Doka now🥰🥰. Great timing too as I recently started a role as a Research Associate with the OpenSTEM Africa project. The only way is up!

Officially become a Doctor (not by practice) but by research! Today I passed my viva with no corrections. At first I was a bit nervous about the ‘examination’, but it turned out to be one of the best academic interactions I ever had.

Felt great when the title of my thesis was read out and my name was called during the graduation ceremony at Ely Cathedral Saturday 01.06.24. The loud noise made by my husband and children, alongside the applause by everyone in the room, still echo in my ears. I did it! #oulife

Does it matter for us as researchers whether what the participants tell us during interviews is true or not? Which story should we report when we detect misrepresentation? 🔸Don’t you dare lie that you’re taxing chicken and chips because you “care about people’s health” when you’re the first to dish out chicken and chips at your rallies. Why weren’t you giving out apples and water? You ignore people’s health when buying votes then pretend to care

This is a nursery somewhere in Zimbabwe. The environment for teaching and learning is also important for early literacy development. What kind of learning do you think happens here?
