Interesting in Gas This Week Price action was wild, front month NYMEX went from nearing $5.50 to $4.10, and CAL26 from $4.40 to $3.82 in 5 days. The fundamental shift was weather and a rumoured freeport hiccup (looked fine this morning), but with a move this big clearly

Can someone explain why my x feed is full of doom over Canadian Oil Sector with the Venezuela takeover going on? I get it Canadian Oil Produces Heavy Sour, Venezuela also produces a similar grade…. But can you tell me how BP Whiting or any PADD II refinery can import that bbl?

Interesting in Gas This Week Price Slump. And what a slump its been. Statistically we are deep in the outlier zone on NYMEX; 2.5 stdev move territory (6w point-to-point move on a 20 yr history). Stats alone would suggest we are prime for a bounce or a breather. Why did prices

Interesting in Gas This Week M&A: Mitsubishi Buys Aethon for $7.5bn (4x CF/ $21 kboepd); LNG buyers continue to consolidate a vertically integrated value chain. DVN/CTRA rumoured; would make a ~$45bn diversified independent; midcon and Delaware offer synergy potential. LNG

Interesting in Gas This Week - TPH out hard this week with tons of great macro work. They see oil production rolling in the US, lead by the Bakken which they see declining by ~60% over the next 15 years. Gas to Oil Ratios (GOR) will mean gas lags this decline, but gravity is

Interesting in Gas This Week Volatility: Scotia was astute to note that NYMEX has had its largest ever 1 day gain and loss in the 12 month strip just days apart. As we grow supply and demand faster than we grow storage, price does more 'work' to balance the market. Any forecast
