The @conservatives party have real 💎 gems in our voluntary roles John Belsey is one of these-who’ll be a brilliant Vice President. We must connect with younger people-being much better at being relevant to their lives in supporting social mobility & aspiration -We need #JB4VP

Great to have the support of Ben Spencer MP as I stand to be a party Vice President. Never wanting to be an MP candidate, my focus is fully on driving positive party change. After voluntary party roles at all levels I hope I’ve the right experience/ expertise for the role #JB4VP

Great to get a call from James Cleverly🇬🇧 to talk about his leadership plan. Pleased he’s serious about how to win back U45s, and our work at Next Gen Tories. We spoke about a new aspirational message & policy plan, which has to start from day 1.

LOST DOG Any followers in south west London/Surrey area, please can you share? We lost Amber yesterday afternoon from home in New Malden. She is an eight year old Shiba Inu, orange, medium/small with curly tail. Sightings only please - do not approach in case she’s spooked

Thank you to everyone supporting my campaign to be a Conservative Party Vice President so I can be a strong voice for party volunteers and help bring positive change to the party. Voting opens Wed 28/8, this is a short reminder of why I’m standing. Website johnbelsey.co.uk

Labour council candidate calling for a Soho late night levy. More taxes. Taking for granted how hard it is to build good culture, and so very easy to destroy.

They are. In London we pay one of Sadiq Khan’s mates £132K a year for 3 days work. Following a big pay rise in May, she’s been off sick (but miraculously recovered every Sat/Sun to do her BBC Radio job?) and now is on holiday. Labour cronyism isn’t just in Downing Street 🤷🏻‍♂️

Pubs are such an important third space. It’s where you meet friends, partners, and people outside of your social bubble. The war on pubs will simply make a lonelier, more isolated society.

We need more pubs open late. Letting out city centres be vibrant - that’s the point of a city! Don’t complain about empty high streets, and then block late night hours.

More Poundburys. More gentle Maida Vale style density in cities. A few more taller buildings in the very centre of cities. That’s the winning combination Conservatives should back 🏡

At the election if someone under 50 opened the door, your gut said they wouldn’t vote Conservative. Usually the hunch was right. I’ve written in ConservativeHome about why and how this has to change & the work of Next Gen Tories 👇 conservativehome.com/2024/09/06/jam…

Really good case for why the twin issues of our hollowed-out campaign infrastructure and our lack of appeal with younger voters are intimately connected from James Cowling
