Just now, @Ofgem has announced that #EnergyDebt has risen by £400 million in the last quarter. Householders are now in £3.69 billion debt to their supplier. Our Director of Policy Peter Smith says, 'This is a stark consequence of unaffordable energy bills.'

National Energy Action Ofgem Peter Smith Household energy debt at this scale, rising at this pace is both lasting effect & inevitable protraction of the energy price crisis. It won't resolve itself anytime soon. Will get worse before it gets any better. Guarantees many more unheated homes as we head into winter.

We've helped 40,000 people be warmer as the Managing Agent of Scottish Government's national #fuelpoverty scheme Warmer Homes Scotland. We also focus on renewable technology to lower carbon emissions. Ian in East Lothian benefitted from the scheme, hear from him in this video.

NEW The UK's pledge of an 81% cut in emissions by 2035 is confirmed by Keir Starmer at #COP29 in Baku Makes the UK only the third country to come forward with a 2035 NDC, behind Brazil and UAE. The UK reduction is much more ambitious too.

World leaders use these moments to make a statement about what defines them on the global stage. Starmer was pretty clear today that he’ll go out to bat for the climate agenda when required — even as we enter the new Trump era politico.eu/article/jeir-s…
