Five years ago, on 21 April 2019, hundreds of people in #SriLanka lost their lives in the Easter Sunday #terrorist bombings and hundreds more were injured.

Spare a thought for them, their families and people everywhere grieving the loss of loved ones killed in terrorist attacks.

Despite its small size, #Panama is blessed with an extraordinary variety of #birds - more than a thousand species have been seen here.

The common Black Vulture looks rather distinguished, lawyerly even. Probably better suited to a judicial or prosecuting role, than defence.

Disfruté mucho de mi visita esta semana a El Castillo de San Lorenzo El Real de Chagres. Su ubicación en la costa al oeste de Colón, rodeado de bosques vírgenes, es especialmente hermosa.

Es fácil llegar desde Ciudad de Panamá. Si no ha estado allí, se lo recomiendo.

It was built in 1863, at the Atlantic end of the railway that crosses the isthmus. Trains were running 60 years before the Canal was opened.

This week I met with women leaders of one of the Embará communities in Panama. Helpful to learn about challenges facing the country’s indigenous peoples and what they are doing to address them, and about the importance they are giving to reforestation and sustainable agriculture.
