Miss Louise Jenison, aka Countess Luise Jenison von Walworth, lived in Viareggio and built a church there in 1909-10. She died in 1931 and bequeathed the church to the diocese of Gibraltar (sold 1977). It is now the Pizzeria La Chiesina (photo: commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pizz…)

There was no English Church in Vienna until 1877. A new embassy was built in 1873-5 and its architect, Viktor Rumpelmayer, was then asked to design Christ Church. E window by F W Cole, 1948, replacing one destroyed in the war. More info and history: ccv-site.org/site/

Fascinating footage here bit.ly/4kuSmv2 of the former Anglican church in St Petersburg, restored for the Chaliapin Musical Theater. Even if you can't follow the Russian commentary you can still enjoy the organ: one for Anna Lapwood to try? Thank you The Anglican Church in St Petersburg.

Great to be back at GE Street’s polychrome All Saints' Rome with its distinctive unRoman spire. Almost foiled by closed streets of Rome Marathon 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️, which ran in front of church. Vicar’s wife explained it takes a lot more than that to stop our services - bravo! #SteepleSaturday

The 'tasteful and commodious' church at Villars-sur-Ollon, dwarfed by the Hotel Grand Muveran, opened in 1883 and was designed by William Barber. It was purchased by Aiglon College in 1996 and remains in use as their chapel achurchnearyou.com/church/33359/

The Boulomié family who developed Vittel as a spa from the 1850s (and controlled production of Vittel water until 1992) realised they needed to build an English church to attract English visitors. It opened in 1903/4, possibly designed by F Clasquin (cf x.com/JamesBettley/s…)

Emmanuel Church, Weimar, built in 1899 and designed by Rudolf Zapfe. The site was given by the Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, a bad one on the edge of town. The church closed in 1914 and reverted to the town in 1926. But it is now thriving: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kreuzkirc…
